Samir Hassan, M.D., F.A.C.S., F.I.C.S.

Dr. Hassan is a graduate of the University of Cairo School of Medicine and received additional general, trauma surgical training in Cairo, Egypt. He continued his training in England for five years at St. James and St. Charles in London and also at Great Yarmouth and Kidderminister England.

He relocated to Michigan in 1973 where he completed a residency in General Surgery at Harper Grace Hospital affiliated with Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan.

In 1981 Dr. Hassan and his family moved to Bradenton Florida where he continues to practice to this date.

Over the last 30 years he underwent extensive training in laser assisted and Hand-Assisted & Laparoscopy surgeries.

He developed a particular interest in the diagnostic and surgical treatment of breast cancer. For the last 25 years he has attended the Miami Breast Cancer Conference.

Dr. Hassan is certified by the American Board of Surgery and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and the International College of Surgery.

Sherry Cavey has worked as the office manager for Manatee Surgical Specialists for 3 years In the past Sherry has worked in other medical offices mainly in the field of gynecology. She has been in the medical field for 20 years

My hobbies are my children. I have a son in his second year at college and my youngest son races cars. He is in 4-H and raises livestock.

Judy Raker has been working with Dr. Hassan as a Certified Registered Nurse First Assistant since 1993. I work along with Dr. Hassan assisting him on surgical cases and also as his office nurse.

Prior to joining Dr. Hassan I worked as an Operating Room Nurse for 19 years(12 years were at Manatee Memorial Hospital & 7 years were around the country while my Husband was in the Military.)

In my spare time I enjoy reading, walking and looking after my 2 Dogs and 1 Cat.

I have been with Dr. Hassan since August of 2006 and prior to that I was working in the Business Office at Manatee Memorial for 6 years.

I have been working in the Medical field since 1999 since moving to Bradenton, Florida. I work closely with our patients, scheduling their appointments with surgery or with other physicians.

 My Husband and I moved to Bradenton, Florida in 1999 from New Jersey.

I have 2 Daughters, one of which still lives in New Jersey where she is raising 3 boys.

My other Daughter is living in Bradenton where she is raising 2 children one of which is a 12 week old little girl.

When I am not working, I spend my time with the Grandchildren, Read and or just relax watching TV with my Husband.

We have 2 dogs(9 year old chihuahua, 3 year old cavalier king Charles). I love to cook new and different things along with the comfort foods we all love.
